The Surrealist exhibition "Imagine" at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels with paintings by Magritte, de Chirico, Ernst, Dali etc... features two works by belgian female artist Suzanne Van Damme (Ghent 1901 - Brussels 1986).

As of april 6th 1971, exactly fifty years ago, the musical genius Igor Fiodorovitch Stravinsky, born in 1882 in Oranienbaum, Russia, passed away in New York.  He was one of the most prolific composers of the XXth century, a gifted pianist and conductor.  This exquisite portrait of the Maestro was made in1971 by belgian artist Jan Burssens (1925-2002), who painted a whole series of celebrities' portraits. Mrs Anne Adriaens-Pannier, honorary curator of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium explains how the retrospective Servranckx exhibition at the Royal Museum was organized in 1989.
