As of april 6th 1971, exactly fifty years ago, the musical genius Igor Fiodorovitch Stravinsky, born in 1882 in Oranienbaum, Russia, passed away in New York. He was one of the most prolific composers of the XXth century, a gifted pianist and conductor. This exquisite portrait of the Maestro was made in1971 by belgian artist Jan Burssens (1925-2002), who painted a whole series of celebrities' portraits.
