Félix Hannaert (1944) studied at the Fine Arts academy in Brussels. According to art critic Luk Lambrecht, his art focuses on colour, line and transparency. The spectator is carried into the depth of surfaces which stand in correlation with the suggestion of space and, hence, with architecture. Hannaert's oeuvre has affinities with the creations of international artists such as Mondriaan, Ad Reinhardt and Barnett Newman and with belgian artists Amédée Cortier, Dan Van Severen and Marthe Wéry.
